Michael Parkinson

Although Michael’s current role is an internal one, his background is as an experienced private client practitioner.  He qualified at Macfarlanes in 2002, became a partner at Russell-Cooke LLP in 2009 and then returned to Macfarlanes as a partner in 2013.

He has advised private clients on a broad range of issues including tax and estate planning, wills, trusts, probate and the administration of estates (in particular estates with a cross-border element).  He has also acted as an executor on numerous occasions and as a trustee of several private and charitable UK trusts.

Michael is a member of the Society of Trust and Estates Practitioners and sat on the committee of the STEP Cross-Border Estates Group until 2018.  He is also one of the authors of Butterworths’ Wills, Probate and Administration Service.
