Melissa is a Chartered Accountant and as of 2020 a Fellow of the ICAEW, as well as being a Chartered Tax Advisor.
She specialises in providing tax advice to UK and non-UK domiciled (non-dom) individuals, trustees both on and offshore and entrepreneurs and their owner managed businesses. Melissa also regularly leads complex HMRC enquiries and tax disclosures for individuals. Following on from her training in a private client accountancy practice, she has extensive experience in the preparation and review of trust and estates taxes and accounts and assuring individual, corporate and partnership tax compliance.
Melissa looks after a diverse range of clients including landed estates, UK and offshore trusts, high net worth individuals, partnerships and companies. Her dual qualification allows her to advise clients holistically and deal with all aspects of their affairs, including their accounting and tax compliance as well as providing the strategic and bespoke tax advice that her clients require.
Alongside her client work, she acts as a mentor to the apprentices within the tax and trust team at the firm.
Melissa was awarded the Bronze medal in the “Accountant of the Year – Manager” category at the Citywealth Future Leaders Awards 2019. The awards champion young professionals in the wealth sector and highlight the leaders under forty of today and tomorrow. She has recently been shortlisted for the 2023 Citywealth Powerwomen awards.
Melissa graduated from the London School of Economics in Accounting and Finance in 2006, and completed the Graduate Diploma in Law in 2007. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) in 2010 and as a Chartered Tax Advisor (CIOT) in 2017. Most recently, she became a Fellow of the ICAEW, the highest status of membership and a recognition of her dedication to the profession. Prior to joining Payne Hicks Beach, she was a Manager at Dixon Wilson where she trained and worked for 11 years, followed by working as a Senior Manager at a UK top 20 accountancy firm.
