She spent the first decade of her career as a practising Family Barrister at a leading set of chambers representing parents, children, guardians and the Official Solicitor. Sarah is a prolific legal commentator, speaking on panels at the European Chapter meeting for the International Academy of Family Lawyers, at The Law Society, at the Payne Hicks Beach International Modern Families event and at international forums. Sarah is an annual contributing author for the International Comparative Legal Guide (Family Law), regularly contributes to esteemed domestic and international family law journals and a University Guest Lecturer on Family Law and Ethics. The Modern Family Podcast Series lead by Sarah and which addresses key issues such as women’s fertility preservation, where to start in choosing donor gametes and creating a family via surrogacy and featured some incredible industry professionals won the ‘Best blog/podcast of the Year’ at the 2022 Citywealth’s Brand Management & Reputation Awards.
The Family Law Awards brings the family law community together, celebrating excellence, networking and recognising its vital contribution to society. The Family Law Awards were launched in 2011 to recognise the important work of family lawyers, and celebrate their many successes and outstanding achievements. The shortlist has been chosen by a judging panel made up of the heads of the Family Law Bar Association, Resolution, the Association of Lawyers for Children and the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, along with Family Law editors and publishing professionals.
The awards ceremony will be held on Monday 27 November 2023 at Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel.
