Payne Hicks Beach’s guests filled the Ashworth Centre in Lincoln’s Inn to witness Sir Robert, who is a consultant at the law firm, converse with Browder.
Browder, author of Red Notice and Freezing Order, shared with the audience his own, often frightening experiences in his quest to find justice for the late Sergei Magnitsky, a Russian lawyer who was killed in a Moscow prison after uncovering a $230 million fraud. Browder fearlessly campaigned for the Magnitsky Act in the US, as a result of which he holds the unenviable record for the most number of times an individual has been placed on the Interpol arrest list by Russia.
The event was part of Payne Hicks Beach’s work in relation to the Law and the State.
