Art Basel 2024

On 13 June 2024, our Art and Cultural Property Law specialist Till Vere-Hodge spoke at Art Basel 2024. The panel discussed how potentially shifting political orientations might affect the legal and financial frameworks concerned with the art market and what other macroeconomic trends might be of relevance to the international art trade.

In 2024, pivotal elections in the European Union, United Kingdom, and United States are poised to reshape the art market’s legal and financial landscapes. At Art Basel 2024, held on 13th June, the discussion on these impending changes was led by Till Vere-Hodge and Katalin Andreides, legal experts specialising in Art and Cultural Property Law, alongside Paul Donovan, Chief Economist of UBS Global Wealth Management. Their panel was moderated by art market expert, journalist and author Georgina Adam and delved into the nuanced intersection of politics, economics, and the art market, offering insights into what these developments might mean for stakeholders.
